Work Environment\n

This remote position leverages telehealth technology to ensure clients receive timely and effective mental health care from the comfort of their homes. Our work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, with the possibility of some evening hours based on client needs. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental health and substance use concerns, effectively identifying co-occurring disorders.

• Collaborate with clients to create personalized treatment plans that encompass both mental health and substance use needs, integrating evidence-based interventions.

• Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions to support clients in developing essential coping mechanisms, emotional regulation techniques, and relapse prevention strategies.

• Engage in care coordination with an interdisciplinary team including psychiatrists, nurses, and addiction specialists, ensuring a holistic approach to treatment.

• Perform regular substance use monitoring and employ motivational interviewing techniques to facilitate open communication and support clients’ recovery journeys.

• Educate clients and their families about the relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, emphasizing treatment adherence and support strategies.

• Maintain precise and timely documentation of treatment progress, interventions, and referrals, adhering to ethical and legal standards.

• Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and ongoing training opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills regarding co-occurring disorder treatments.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The therapist will primarily work with adults experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. These clients often face complex challenges requiring thoughtful, individualized care plans that address their unique histories and goals. Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.

• Expertise in evidence-based therapies applicable to co-occurring disorders, such as Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• Strong understanding of the intricacies between mental health and substance use disorders, combined with high-level interpersonal skills that facilitate teamwork.

Preferred Experience\n

Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in mental health counseling or a related field. A foundation in treatment methodologies specific to co-occurring disorders is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this role ranges from $75,000 to $100,000 per year, complemented by a potential sign-on bonus.
