Solutions Engineer

This role is part of our programmatic effort to develop promising field engineers—providing a launchpad for the next generation of data leaders. You will help customers build prototypes and demos that prove what is possible with the Databricks Lakehouse platform. Location In‑office, New York City (Midtown). Relocation assistance is not provided. Impact Build successful relationships with customers throughout your assigned territory, providing technical and business value in collaboration with Account Executives. Serve as an expert in big data analytics and become a trusted advisor on architecture, design, and implementation, enabling adoption of the Databricks Lakehouse platform. Move quickly from customer problem to working prototype by writing code, building demos, and creating reusable assets; use AI tools to increase productivity and drive innovation. Scale best practices and support customers by authoring reference architectures, how‑tos, demo applications, and building the Databricks community in your region through workshops, seminars, and meet‑ups. Grow your knowledge and expertise to the level of a technical and/or industry specialist. Qualifications 2+ years of technical experience in a customer‑facing solutions engineering role. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Hands‑on builder mindset: preference for prototyping and learning‑by‑doing, comfortable using AI‑assisted development tools. Hands‑on experience with Python, Java, or Scala, and proficiency in SQL. Experience with Big Data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) and architectures is a plus. Aptitude to interact with customers confidently and professionally. Ability to meet expectations for technical training and role‑specific outcomes within six months of hire. Pay Range Transparency Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is listed below and represents the expected base salary range for non‑commissionable roles or on‑target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on factors such as job‑related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications, and specific work location. The total compensation package may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.
