Test Manager

Client is seeking an experienced Test Manager to lead and drive end-to-end testing.

This is a contractor role responsible for establishing, managing, and executing the overall testing strategy across a complex, multi-system environment. The Test Manager will partner closely with Global IT, business stakeholders, PMO, and Testing-as-a-Service (TaaS) teams to ensure high-quality delivery, governance, and readiness for deployment.

The role requires strong leadership across System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression and readiness cycles, ensuring alignment with defined entry/exit criteria, defect thresholds, and governance expectations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Test Strategy Execution & Leadership

• Lead execution of the Project Testing Strategy, ensuring alignment with program objectives, scope, and governance.
• Drive testing across all phases:
• System Integration Testing (SIT1, SIT2)
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• User Dress Rehearsal (UDR)
• Regression testing
• Ensure risk-based testing prioritization, focused on critical business processes, integrations, and controls.

2. Test Planning & Governance

• Develop and govern detailed test plans, schedules, and execution models aligned with the integrated program plan.
• Define and enforce entry/exit criteria, readiness checkpoints, and test cycles.
• Ensure complete requirements traceability (RTM) and coverage of all business processes.
• Work with PMO to establish and maintain RACI, reporting cadence, and governance forums.

3. Cross-System Integration Testing Oversight

• Lead testing across a complex application landscape, including:
• SAP S/4HANA
• Salesforce
• Kinaxis
• Hyperion / Anaplan
• Ariba
• Other enterprise and homegrown applications
• Ensure validation of:
• End-to-end business processes
• Data migration, reconciliation, and conversion
• Interfaces (inbound/outbound)
• Security roles and controls
• Reporting and analytics

4. Test Execution Management

• Oversee test execution using qTest ALM for:
• Test planning and repository management
• Script execution tracking
• Defect lifecycle management
• Reporting and dashboards
• Coordinate with Global TaaS teams, SMEs, and IT delivery teams for smooth execution.
• Ensure test scripts are designed, reviewed, approved, and executed with proper evidence.

5. Defect & Quality Management

• Own defect triage, prioritization, and resolution governance.
• Ensure defects are tracked, categorized, and resolved within thresholds:
• No critical/high defects at phase exit
• Defined pass-rate thresholds (e.g., 90–95% for SIT, 100% for UAT)
• Drive root cause analysis and regression validation.
• Provide daily defect and testing status reporting to leadership.

6. Business Engagement & UAT Leadership

• Partner with business stakeholders to:
• Define UAT scope and scenarios
• Support business testers during execution
• Ensure complete validation of business processes
• Drive UAT sign-off and deployment readiness decisions.

7. Environment & Data Readiness

• Ensure readiness of:
• Test environments (SIT, UAT, Dress Rehearsal)
• Test data (mock cutovers, converted data)
• Coordinate environment dependencies and readiness milestones with IT and PMO.

8. Reporting & Executive Communication

• Provide daily/weekly test status reporting, including:
• Execution progress
• Defect metrics
• Risk and issue tracking
• Present updates to senior leadership and governance forums.
• Escalate risks proactively with mitigation plans.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 12+ years of experience in enterprise application testing/programs
• 8+ years hands on Test Manager / Test Lead roles
• Proven experience leading testing for large-scale ERP transformations or integrations
• Strong experience with multi-system integration programs
• Proven experience leading cross-functional teams across multiple geographies and time zones.

Functional & Technical Expertise

• Deep understanding of:
• SAP S/4HANA testing
• Enterprise SaaS platforms (Salesforce, Ariba, Anaplan, Kinaxis)
• Experience in:
• End-to-end business process testing (OTC, P2P, SCM, Finance, etc.)
