HR Business Partner Department: Admin Employment Type: Full Time Location: St. Joseph, MI Reporting To: Adam Kipfmiller Schedule: Exempt (salaried), min 40 hours per week | Monday - Friday Department: PACE of Southwest Michigan | St. Joseph, MI & Niles MI Description Your Expertise Shapes Our Teams: As a Human Resources Business Partner, you’ll be a trusted advisor to leaders, helping them create inclusive environments where every team member feels valued, supported, and safe. Key Responsibilities: You are able to proactively problem solve and identify risks, combine disparate data to diagnose the root cause of emergent issues, interpret and ensure adherence to laws and regulations. You stay up-to-date on how changing laws might impact how our teams perform. You've never met a stranger. You can get to know anyone and empathize with their perspective, driving motivations, and build the strong relationships needed to effectively guide leaders. You're calm in a crisis. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration or equivalent experience Two years of team member relations experience Comprehensive understanding of labor laws and regulations, particularly in Michigan Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and mediation skills Ability to balance the interests of multiple stakeholders and drive toward consensus Ability to build credibility, trust, and resilient relationships with team members of all levels Occasional travel for required meetings, training sessions, and other work-related events Nice-to-Haves An advanced degree or HR certification SHRM-CP or PHR certification Benefits Generous 6 weeks of Flexible time off per year – plus paid holidays on top of that.
