Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations and document each client’s case from the initial consultation through the course of treatment.

• Utilize standardized assessment tools and interviews to evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional states.
\n
• Create personalized treatment plans that include therapeutic interventions for clients’ specific needs, adjusting these as necessary based on progress and feedback.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on building rapport and fostering a safe space for clients to explore their challenges.

• Continuously monitor clients’ progress towards their treatment goals, making modifications as needed to interventions.
\n
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and medical staff, to devise holistic intervention plans that address the entirety of clients’ health.

• Assist in managing referrals for clients requiring specialized care and maintain open communication with external healthcare providers.

• Design and implement strategies to identify at-risk behaviors and work proactively to prevent setbacks in recovery.

• Support clients’ families and primary caregivers by providing resources and strategies for addressing behavioral challenges and enhancing the home environment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on a diverse population consisting of individuals, couples, families, and groups experiencing a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. Counselors will engage with clients from varying backgrounds and will employ culturally sensitive practices to ensure all therapeutic interventions are respectful and responsive to clients' unique experiences.

Qualifications\n

• Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW within the state of Texas.

• Successful completion of relevant licensure exams, such as the NCE or NCMHCE.
\n
• Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor within clinical settings, highlighting competencies in assessments and therapeutic techniques.

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, to document client interactions and treatment progress.

• Knowledge of addiction disorders and co-occurring physical or emotional health conditions.

• Familiarity with best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with exceptional interpersonal skills that facilitate client engagement and trust-building.

The Denton Psychotherapy Center offers a competitive salary range of USD $80,000 - $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
