Behavioral Health Admission Nurse (RN)/FULL TIME 12 hours shifts

Responsibilities Sierra Vista Hospital is seeking Behavioral Health Admissions Nurse (Full-Time) for the Intake Department. The RN supports the department using established nursing protocols for all possible admissions. Responsibilities include answering inquiry calls, scheduling assessments, performing psychiatric assessments, providing clinical summaries and recommendations based on findings, consulting with the psychiatrist, and referring individuals to the appropriate level of care based on the psychiatrist\'s orders. RNs take telephone orders from admitting MDs and perform initial medical screening through referring ERs. They may assist with initial insurance pre-authorization within 24 hours. All staff help maintain an organized and clean department by auditing and data entry of referrals, restocking documents and forms, and filing as time permits. Cross-functional training may be required to support the license across the facility. Full-time 12-hour shifts 7:00 am – 7:30 pm (NOC) Required to work Saturdays or Sundays Qualifications Education: Minimum associate degree from an accredited program and an RN license, required. Experience: A minimum of six (6) months of direct medical and clinical experience as a licensed RN, preferably in a psychiatric or mental health setting, with direct experience in patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations; ER experience with psychiatric patients is preferred. L icensure: RN. Additional Requirements: CPR certification required. Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques. Overtime and flexible hours may be required.
