Work Environment

This position is primarily onsite, facilitating treatments in the residences of our patients within the Merrifield area. The home care setting allows for a personal touch while granting physical therapists the opportunity to assess and work within the patient's own environment, which can significantly enhance recovery and comfort. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial and ongoing physical therapy evaluations, adhering to applicable state standards and organizational policies.
• Assess patient mobility, strength, and overall function, establishing realistic and measurable goals tailored to individual capabilities.
• Design detailed Plans of Treatment that include specific therapeutic exercises, modalities, and patient and caregiver education, emphasizing both short-term and long-term objectives.
• Implement and consistently monitor treatment plans, adjusting strategies and techniques in response to patient progress and feedback.
• Document all patient interactions and progress meticulously in compliance with medical record-keeping standards.
• Engage in regular professional development activities, including workshops and reviewing relevant literature, to stay updated on best practices in physical therapy.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including occupational therapists, nurses, and healthcare aides, to enhance patient rehabilitation efforts.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The successful candidate will work with a diverse patient population, encompassing individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions, as well as those seeking rehabilitation after trauma. You will tailor your therapeutic approaches to accommodate patients of all ages and fitness levels, ensuring you address each individual's unique challenges and goals.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution (Master's or Doctorate degree preferred).
• Active and valid Physical Therapy license in Virginia.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a clinical or home care setting.
• A compassionate nature, with a focus on motivating patients while ensuring safety and accountability in therapy practices.
• Proficient understanding of physical therapy equipment and best practices for its use.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in orthopedic rehabilitation and familiarity with various treatment techniques.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this role ranges from $90,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
