Work Environment

This position is based onsite at a local hospital, which allows for a multidisciplinary healthcare approach, collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals. The role involves direct patient care within a busy orthopedic unit, ensuring you will have a varied and stimulating workday amidst a compassionate team focused on quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in the development and execution of tailored treatment plans for patients coping with orthopedic conditions.
• Provide hands-on care through therapeutic exercises, neuromuscular re-education, and various manual therapy techniques.
• Systematically monitor and document patient progress, making necessary adjustments to enhance treatment efficacy in alignment with established goals.
• Educate patients and their families regarding exercise techniques, safety measures during therapy, and the importance of adhering to treatment recommendations.
• Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, you will participate in meetings to discuss patient care strategies and ensure comprehensive support.
• Maintain diligent, accurate, and timely documentation of all patient sessions, treatment adjustments, and progress notes in compliance with state regulatory guidelines.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with orthopedic patients that may include those recovering from surgeries such as joint replacements, fractures, sports injuries, or chronic musculoskeletal conditions. This diverse patient demographic allows for rich professional growth opportunities as you develop specialized skills and insights into various treatment modalities.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Current active state PTA license.
• A minimum of two years of experience in an orthopedic setting is essential.
• Strong foundational knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and key medical terminology.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport with patients while maintaining professionalism at all times.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in using rehabilitation equipment, such as resistance bands, ultrasound, electrical stimulation devices, and other modalities common in orthopedic therapy.
• Previous exposure to electronic medical record (EMR) systems for documentation.
• Adaptive strategies for varied patient needs and backgrounds.

Compensation and Benefits
