Work Environment

The role of the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be based onsite at our outpatient office in Tampa, situated in a friendly neighborhood that is easily accessible for patients. We operate during regular business hours, from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a stable work schedule conducive to work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and evaluations to accurately diagnose mental health conditions.
• Manage patient medications effectively, including ongoing monitoring and adjusting treatment plans based on individual response.
• Collaborate closely with primary care providers and interdisciplinary team members to create a comprehensive care plan for patients.
• Provide crisis intervention support, assisting patients and their families during acute emotional distress.
• Engage in community outreach efforts, promoting mental health awareness and resources within the local community.
• Deliver therapeutic support through counseling, psychoeducation, and behavioral strategies tailored to each patient’s needs.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential patient records, adhering strictly to HIPAA regulations and ensuring the highest standards of documentation.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will work with a diverse population, including individuals from various cultural backgrounds and ages, presenting a variety of mental health conditions. Our practice is particularly focused on addressing the unique needs of underserved communities in the Tampa area, ensuring that all clients receive compassionate and effective mental health care.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is required.
• Current state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a psychiatric specialization in Florida.
• Strong foundation in psychiatric nursing principles, including evidence-based practices in mental healthcare.

Compensation and Benefits
