Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate each client's mental health and substance use concerns, identifying co-occurring disorders to create an accurate and effective treatment framework.

• Develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, integrating evidence-based therapeutic interventions that address both mental health and substance use needs, ensuring all approaches respect cultural and individual differences.

• Provide individual and group therapy sessions focusing on essential skills such as coping strategies, emotional regulation techniques, and relapse prevention to empower clients throughout their recovery process.

• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, facilitating information exchange and supporting integrated treatment while maintaining the dignity of clients.

• Monitor clients’ substance use progress regularly, employing motivational interviewing techniques to foster open dialogue and support adherence to treatment goals.

• Educate clients and their families on the connection between mental health and substance use disorders, promoting understanding and treatment compliance as vital components of effective care.

• Maintain meticulous documentation of client progress, treatment interventions, and referrals, ensuring adherence to all ethical and legal standards.

• Engage in regular case conferences, staff meetings, and continued education opportunities to enhance expertise in the treatment of co-occurring disorders and integrate best practices into care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our client base includes individuals battling co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. You will work with a diverse population, including adults who face challenges such as anxiety, depression, substance dependence, and trauma-related disorders. Your role will be pivotal in guiding them through the complexities of recovery, helping break harmful cycles through compassionate and evidence-based methods.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.
\n
• Proficient in evidence-based treatment modalities such as Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• Strong foundational knowledge of the interplay between mental health and substance use disorders, with the ability to translate that understanding into actionable treatment strategies.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration within an interdisciplinary team and fostering trust with clients.
