Director - Front Office Engineering Lead

Salary: $30,000 - 55,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; an advanced degree is preferred.
• We are looking for 14+ years of experience designing, building, and delivering real-time, scalable, resilient applications in financial services or similarly complex, high-throughput environments.
• We need strong expertise in relational and analytical data platforms such as KDB, ClickHouse, or Oracle, including data modelling, query tuning, and large-scale data handling.
• We value hands-on experience with messaging and middleware technologies such as Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, and FIX protocol, along with an understanding of event-driven and asynchronous architecture.
• We expect a solid understanding of Scrum and Agile practices, with a track record of delivering in fast-moving environments where priorities evolve quickly.
• We are seeking excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• We need strong organisational ability to coordinate, influence, and advance cross-functional initiatives.
• We want someone who can assess complex, ambiguous challenges and develop practical, innovative solutions while balancing engineering quality and delivery speed.
• We prefer familiarity with AI-assisted development and productivity tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, or Claude Code, and a willingness to use AI-enabled workflows to improve efficiency and code quality.
• We require experience working with Execution Management Systems (EMS) and Order Management Systems (OMS).

• We will have you lead the design, architecture, and implementation of trading, sales, and operations workflows, ensuring alignment with our business goals and engineering standards.
• We will rely on you to design and deliver flexible, scalable trade-flow software that supports varied client-side and OMS-side integrations as well as high-throughput use cases.
• We expect you to partner with Product, Trading, Operations, and Engineering teams to turn complex business needs into robust, scalable technical solutions.
• We will ask you to collaborate with a cross-functional engineering group to assess and adopt emerging technologies for a modern, high-performance stack.
• We want you to promote an AI-first approach by driving automation, intelligent code refactoring, and the use of AI tools to boost developer productivity and system efficiency.
• We expect you to produce well-designed, testable, secure, and performant code through hands-on development, thorough code reviews, and adherence to our engineering practices.
• We will need you to provide second-line production support, investigate difficult system issues, and contribute to incident resolution and post-incident reviews.
• We want you to mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers, helping build a culture of continuous learning, technical progression, and engineering excellence.
