Job Summary The Key Account Manager (KAM) maintains existing business and focuses on expanding sales within a defined geographic region, reporting to the Area Sales Director. The role promotes Harrow’s IHEEZO and Triesence products to ophthalmologists, optometrists, surgery centers, and supporting staff. The KAM is a highly motivated self‑starter who offers solutions to challenges, maintains a positive presence with internal and external customers, is well‑organized, and can multitask in a continuously changing, dynamic ophthalmic market environment. Applicants should have experience in retina, buy‑and‑bill, and/or medical device sales with a proven track record of success selling to physicians, private clinics, hospitals, and support staff. Responsibilities Meet or exceed quarterly sales revenue and product goals. Take 100% ownership and accountability to reach the goals set by the company. Focus on developing new customers while maintaining the existing customer base. Effectively close business deals in a timely and professional manner. Adopt an entrepreneurial mindset to analyze, develop, and grow the territory business. Grow the business through organic pull‑through with additional products and adding new customers. Call on ophthalmic healthcare professionals in defined markets. Develop critical physician and staff relationships within the assigned geography. Utilize all internal resources when developing quarterly action plans or handling problem accounts. Provide weekly new business forecasts and updates. Maintain accurate sales activity records in CRM, with next steps summarized. Demonstrate competence in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook. Maintain a professional understanding of the ophthalmic product portfolio. Articulate the compelling advantages of the products and formulations and the solutions that complement them. Act with a sense of urgency at all customer care levels and follow up. Collaborate with internal departments and peers. Travel routinely throughout the assigned geography and accommodate about 80% field travel, including overnight stays. Utilize the designated CRM system—Salesforce. Comply with the Pharmaceutical Industry’s Code of Practice and all state and federal legislation and regulatory requirements. Manage expenses thoughtfully, responsibly, and ethically. Be a resourceful thinker who finds available resources to achieve success. Act as the liaison for customer complaints or issues with continual follow‑up. Submit all required reports, including monthly expense reports, on time. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 3+ years of buy‑and‑bill and/or medical device sales experience. Retina ophthalmology experience is preferred but not required. Strong relationship building and long‑term customer development skills. Ability to quickly absorb product and practice information and offer resonant solutions. Experience executing strategic and targeted business plans around priorities and goals. Proficiency with MS Office products—Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Clinical understanding in ophthalmology is preferred. Knowledge of how physicians make decisions regarding patient care for various therapies. Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills. Independent judgment and initiative. Superior communication and written skills. Ability to multitask and adjust priorities. Good problem‑solving and analytical skills. Proficiency with Salesforce CRM. Travel Approximately 75% weekly travel within the defined territory with overnight stays required.
