Information Technology Specialist II

Job Description and Duties

The Information Technology Specialist II (ITS II) will serve as the Network Security Lead responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and advancing enterprise network security operations within the Information Management Division. The ITS II will act as the primary technical authority for network security posture, ensuring the protection, monitoring, and resilience of critical infrastructure systems. This position will lead efforts related to vulnerability management, incident response, security architecture review, risk assessment, and compliance with statewide security standards and policies.

Working Conditions

Monday through Friday, 0800-1700 hours. This is an office centric position.

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to appointment. The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) serves as documentation of each applicant’s ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. 1. Describe your experience designing, implementing, and maintaining an enterprise level network security architecture. Please provide specific examples of security solutions you have deployed and managed.

2. Detail a complex network security incident breach or critical vulnerability where you acted as a technical lead. Outline your methodology for identification, containment, eradication, and recovery back to normal operations.

3. Describe your experience leading and mentoring a technical team to take ownership of their domains. Provide a specific example of how you facilitated a team member or team as a whole to identify a major operational bottleneck or security gap and mentored them through the process.
