Work Environment

This position offers an onsite work setting where you will directly interact with patients in a comfortable and supportive clinic environment. Standard work hours are typically Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM or 8 AM to 4 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and obtain detailed patient medical histories to inform diagnosis and treatment plans.
• Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illnesses, showcasing your clinical expertise and critical thinking skills.
• Prescribe medications and implement treatments tailored to the needs of each patient, ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines and safety protocols.
• Develop, implement, and manage patient care plans that encompass comprehensive management of health conditions.
• Facilitate referrals and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity and comprehensiveness of care.
• Communicate effectively with collaborating physicians and specialists regarding patient conditions, treatments, and progress.
• Engage in patient education, offering guidance on preventative care and health maintenance strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In our urgent care setting, the Nurse Practitioner will cater to a diverse patient demographic, ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics. You will encounter a variety of medical conditions—from minor injuries and acute illnesses to chronic disease management. Your role will be critical in ensuring a seamless patient experience, facilitating quick responses to health concerns, and fostering long-term relationships with patients through exceptional care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Nurse Practitioner (NP).
• Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of New York.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience in an urgent care or primary care setting.
• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority.
• Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacology, along with the ability to stay current with healthcare advancements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, proficient in building rapport with patients and collaborating healthcare teams.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in urgent care or emergency medicine preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
