Start Date: November 23, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM. Available as 36 or 48-hour weekly contracts. Contract lengths range from 13-26 weeks. Weekend requirement of 5-6 shifts per 6-week scheduling period. Floating to other units required as needed based on facility census.

Highlights:

• Fast-paced cardiac telemetry unit specializing in heart failure, arrhythmias, pacemaker/ICD implantations, and pre/post cardiac catheterization patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and physical therapy
• Experience with cardiac drips (Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine), sheath pulls, TR bands, and Femstop procedures
• EPIC electronic medical record system with Pyxis medication dispensing and SBAR communication protocols
• 24-hour orientation program with ongoing support from an experienced cardiac care team
• Contract staff may be assigned to storm/hurricane teams and required to report during catastrophic events or disasters

Requirements:

• Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac telemetry, PCU, IMC, or stepdown experience
• Strong skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start date
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with teamwork-focused approach
• First-time travelers accepted; charge experience preferred
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
