Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to adults and geriatrics in a Med/Surg unit, including assessment, monitoring, and documentation
- Administer medications and IV therapies, perform IV starts, and manage peripheral lines; blood draws and blood product administration
- Care for PICC/central lines, insulin and heparin administration, and wound care including wound VAC as indicated
- Provide feeding tube care and colostomy/ileostomy care; uphold infection precautions and isolation procedures
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and adjust care plans; monitor for changes in patient condition and respond promptly
- Maintain accurate charting and ensure compliance with unit policies and patient safety standards

Requirements
- Licensure: Active New York RN license required at time of submission
- Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute hospital nursing experience; prior travel experience required
- Skills: IV starts, blood draws, wound care, basic blood product administration, infection precautions, and standard med administration
- Additional: Must be willing to float within skillset as needed; Relias EKG exam completed within 72 hours of signing with onsite assessment expected (high-level pass required)
- Compliance & scheduling: Healthstream/mandatory modules completed before start (by 7 a.m. on the Wednesday prior to start) or candidate may be turned away from orientation
- Local residency restriction: Primary residence within 50 miles of the assignment address is not accepted
- Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program; current NY RN license
