Job Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments for patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups utilizing standardized tools and observational techniques.
- Create tailored treatment plans that cater to immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing aspirations.
- Implement individualized speech therapy interventions focusing on language, speech, fluency, voice, and swallowing rehabilitation.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive care strategies.
- Provide education to patients and their families to encourage continued progress beyond clinical sessions.
- Support inpatient therapy assessments and interventions to maintain seamless care throughout the therapeutic process.
- Ensure timely, precise documentation that adheres to all state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Stay informed about the latest best practices in the field through continuing professional education and collaborative peer interactions.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA-certified.
- Active state licensure as a Speech Language Specialist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first month of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies for patients of all ages, with a keen awareness of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong interpersonal communication ability with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adjust therapy strategies to accommodate different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Exceptional clinical judgment and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in navigating electronic medical records and adhering to documentation protocols.
