About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Accounting to join their team. The successful candidate will be a key leader, responsible for overseeing and modernizing the accounting and finance infrastructure. This hands-on role involves leading, mentoring, and developing the accounting team, as well as managing all aspects of accounting and compliance. The Vice President of Accounting will also be instrumental in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, and will work closely with the CFO to enhance financial and investor reporting. The position is well-suited for a professional with a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, at least 10 years' of real estate accounting experience (with a strong preference for those with affordable housing, HUD, or Section 8 experience), and a proven track record in team leadership. A CPA and/or Master's degree is preferred. The ideal candidate for the Vice President of Accounting role at the company will have a background in real estate accounting, particularly in the affordable housing sector. They should be adept at driving process improvement, and controls, and implementing scalable accounting practices. The role offers the opportunity to step into a leadership gap and build out the accounting organization during a period of significant growth.
