This role will support day-to-day payroll operations while playing a key role in month-end and fiscal year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and payroll reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a high level of accuracy, and prior payroll experience in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities - Payroll Assistant Assist with the preparation and processing of weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly payroll. Support month-end and fiscal year-end payroll close activities. Assist with W-2 preparation, verification, and distribution. Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data accuracy within payroll systems. Process payroll changes including new hires, terminations, pay rate adjustments, and deductions. Verify timekeeping records and resolve payroll discrepancies. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, deductions, and earnings. Reconcile payroll reports and assist with payroll-related account reconciliations. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. Support audits by gathering payroll documentation and reports. Assist with payroll reporting and special projects as needed. Qualifications - Payroll Assistant 2+ years of payroll, accounting, or related administrative experience preferred. Experience supporting month-end and year-end payroll processes required. Knowledge of W-2 processing and payroll tax regulations preferred. Familiarity with payroll software and HRIS systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data entry, sorting, filtering, and basic formulas. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Strong communication and customer service skills. High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred. Ability to work onsite in Nashville, TN.
