Make a positive impact while supporting students with autism and complex learning needs in a welcoming, inclusive middle school environment. This rewarding contract opportunity offers hands-on experience working with the BRIDGES program, assisting a female student alongside a collaborative team. The school provides an organized, supportive setting where your skills will truly make a difference.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Delaware Paraeducator Permit required at time of application; applications with pending status must include DEEDS portal screenshot
  • Prior experience working as a paraprofessional, especially with students on the autism spectrum or with complex learning needs preferred
  • Comfort in assisting with feeding and toileting (the student has two nurses, but willingness to assist as needed is essential)
  • Willingness to undergo $85 CBC fingerprinting (at candidate’s expense)
  • Commitment to collaborative teamwork and compassionate student support
  • Onsite availability for the term of assignment

Responsibilities Include:

  • Delivering dedicated paraprofessional support to a middle school student in the BRIDGES program
  • Providing respectful assistance as needed, including feeding and toileting
  • Promoting inclusion and engagement through positive reinforcement and classroom participation
  • Collaborating with nurses, special education staff, and teachers
  • Maintaining accurate, professional documentation as required
  • Fostering a safe and supportive learning environment for all

Enjoy consistent weekday hours from 8:05am to 2:55pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch (Monday–Friday, 35 hours per week). The role extends through June 8, 2027, offering valuable long-term experience with opportunity to build lasting professional relationships.
