Make a real difference every day supporting students in the classroom as a contract paraprofessional in a dynamic educational setting near Wilmington, DE. This role offers the opportunity to have a direct, positive impact on students who benefit from compassionate, focused assistance throughout their academic experience. With two unique openings available—including support for a full-year medical leave and a specialized STRIVE program for students with significant emotional needs—you’ll play a crucial role in fostering student growth and resilience.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Delaware Paraeducator Permit required; applications will only be considered if this is in hand (or, if pending, provide DEEDS portal screenshot).
- Experience supporting students in elementary school settings is highly valued.
- A therapeutic support or behavioral background is a strong plus, especially for the STRIVE program.
- Male applicants are preferred for the full-year medical leave position, due to specific caseload needs.
- Willingness to undergo required $85 CBC fingerprinting.
- Ability to provide documentation as needed (e.g., permit, resume).
- RBTs may apply, but must independently secure supervision for ongoing certification outside work hours, as this classification will be hired and compensated as a paraprofessional.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide daily educational and behavioral support to students on a M-F, 35-hour-per-week schedule (30-minute unpaid lunch).
- Assist classroom educators in instructional activities and individualized student care.
- Support positive student behavior and engagement, tailored to unique needs.
- Contribute to a welcoming, safe, and productive learning environment.
