Make an immediate impact in early childhood education as a dedicated paraprofessional supporting our youngest learners. We’re seeking passionate professionals to work in preschool settings, focusing on students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs). Two positions are available—one at each of our early childhood locations—where you’ll assist skilled educators while fostering a nurturing and structured environment.
What you bring:
- Current Delaware Paraeducator Permit (must be in hand; pending status requires documentation from the DEEDS portal)
- Experience in preschool or early childhood classrooms preferred
- Ability to confidently support challenging behaviors, including tantrums, aggression, and elopement
- Familiarity with implementing behavioral intervention plans
- Background working with children with IEPs and BSPs is a plus
- Positive, patient, and collaborative approach
- Commitment to securing and providing required $85 CBC fingerprinting
Your day-to-day responsibilities:
- Provide essential classroom support to teachers and therapists in BSP settings
- Implement individualized plans to address unique needs and behavioral goals
- Encourage social, emotional, and cognitive development in students
- Ensure student safety and redirect challenging behaviors appropriately
- Promote an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere for all children
- Accurately document student progress and incidents per established protocols
- Collaborate closely with educational staff and families
