Instructional Assistant - New Castle, Delaware

Job Description

Step into a dynamic education setting as a direct adult support paraprofessional at the elementary level. This contract opportunity spans the academic year through early summer 2027, offering meaningful interaction with students and a chance to make a significant impact each school day.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct support to students under the guidance of educational staff within an elementary school setting
Assist teachers with classroom management, instructional activities, and behavioral support
Contribute to a collaborative environment focused on student success and well-being
Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and families to support learning goals
Help implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and support a positive, inclusive classroom experience

Required Qualifications:

Current Delaware Paraeducator Permit (must hold permit at time of application; no pending or in-process permits accepted unless a screenshot of the DEEDS portal is provided)
Experience working in a school, paraprofessional, or instructional support capacity strongly preferred
Willingness and ability to pay for CBC fingerprinting as required by state regulations
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to respond flexibly to the needs of students and classroom staff
For those holding the RBT credential: supervision must be arranged independently and outside school hours
Reliability in committing to the full contract period
