Embark on a rewarding contract assignment providing dedicated paraprofessional support to middle school students with autism and complex learning needs. This onsite role spans through June 8, 2027, offering steady, weekday hours (Monday–Friday, 8:05am–2:55pm; 35 hours weekly with a 30-minute unpaid lunch). You will work in a BRIDGES program within a supportive team, making a meaningful impact every day.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Delaware Paraeducator Permit (must be active and in hand at time of submission)
- Experience with students on the autism spectrum or with complex learning needs strongly preferred
- Comfort and willingness to assist with feeding and toileting as needed (two nurses are already assigned, but support may be required)
- Willingness to pay $85 for required fingerprinting and able to provide proof of completion
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work alongside teachers, nurses, and other support staff
- Candidates with RBT credentials must ensure personal BCBA supervision outside school hours; this role is strictly classified as paraprofessional
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to a middle school student, ensuring safety and engagement throughout the school day
- Assist student with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals in conjunction with the BRIDGES program
- Be prepared to assist with feeding and toileting responsibilities if needed, supporting existing nursing staff
- Cultivate a positive learning environment and maintain accurate documentation as required
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and service providers to implement tailored instructional and care strategies
