Temporary Faculty Pool – Lecturer in Geomatics Engineering Department overview and position overview for the Department of Geomatics Engineering. Position Summary GME 15: Engineering Surveying (3 units, 3 WTUs) GME 15L: Engineering Surveying Laboratory (1 unit, 2 WTUs) GME 16: Municipal Surveying (3 units, 3 WTUs) GME 16L: Municipal Surveying Laboratory (1 unit, 2 WTUs) GME 40/40L: Route Construction and Surveying GME 66L: Computer‑aided Drafting (1 unit, 2 WTUs) GME 102: Remote Sensing (3 units, 3 WTUs) GME 123: Stereo Photogrammetry (3 units, 4 WTUs) GME 126: Digital Mapping (3 units, 4 WTUs) Other classes as needed to fulfill educational goals of current students Instructor Responsibilities Temporary faculty members are responsible for adherence to and implementation of university and system-wide policies, preparation, delivery, proctoring, and grading of lectures, office hours, homework, quizzes, class projects, midterms, and finals. All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the semester in the assigned mode (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid). Conditional Appointment Appointments are contingent upon budget, enrollment, and collective bargaining agreement provisions. Order of work places tenure‑line faculty first, followed by lecturer appointees. Appointment requires eligibility to work in the United States; no work‑visa sponsorship is provided. Compensation Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience within the CSU salary range (Class Code 2358). For a Master’s degree holder teaching full time (15 WTUs), the range is $5,507–$6,677 per month, with actual payment adjusted by WTUs assigned per term. Anticipated Semester The pool remains open continuously; appointments are made as needed. Two-term commitment period. Availability on short notice may be required. Fall 2026: August 19 2026 – December 22 2026 Spring 2027: January 15 2027 – May 26 2027 Required Qualifications for GME 15, 15L, 16, 16L, 66L, 102, 123, 126 Education: MS in Civil Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, or related field. BS holders considered if experience meets requirements. Experience: California Land Surveyor in Training License (LSIT). Preferred: California PLS, knowledge of drafting techniques, tools, software, equipment, and practices of the Land Surveying Profession, teaching experience at university level. Required Qualifications for GME 40 Education: MS in Civil Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, or related field; BS considered with sufficient experience. Experience: California Land Surveyor in Training License (LSIT). Preferred: California PLS, knowledge of drafting techniques and tools, experience in planning/design/implementation of construction staking, teaching experience at university level. Required Qualifications for GME 159 Experience: Land Surveyor in Training License (LSIT). Preferred: CA PLS, knowledge of drafting techniques related to the Subdivision Map Act, teaching experience at university level. Application Procedures Review is rolling.
