Chief Operating Officer

Methodist Rehabilitation, Mississippi's leading provider of comprehensive rehabilitation care, is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to join its executive leadership team. For more than 50 years, Methodist Rehab has been restoring hope and independence to individuals recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, major trauma, and other complex conditions. This is an opportunity to lead operations at a mission-driven, faith-based organization that has earned national recognition for clinical excellence, including Joint Commission accreditation and CARF accreditation through 2028.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the COO holds accountability for the day-to-day operations of both inpatient and outpatient care delivery across a nearly $80 million operating budget. The COO serves as a key member of the senior executive team, integrates the organization's strategic plan into operational execution, and is expected to act in the CEO's absence. This is a broad and highly visible leadership role spanning nursing, inpatient and outpatient therapy, case management, quality, revenue cycle, pharmacy, radiology, facilities, nutrition, safety and security, infection prevention, neuropsychology, respiratory care, laboratory services, social work, and Joint Commission/CARF accreditation functions.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a seasoned healthcare executive with a track record of leading complex clinical operations in inpatient rehabilitation, post-acute care, or specialty hospital environments. The COO will have direct accountability for quality, accreditation, financial performance, and workforce leadership across multiple departments, and is comfortable operating at the C-suite level while remaining deeply connected to the work of frontline clinical teams.
