Patent Agent

Trustpoint.One is partnering with a national law firm’s Charlotte office in their search for a Patent Agent with a minimum of two years of experience and a background in engineering and/or computer science. USPTO registration is preferred. Responsibilities Prepare, draft and file patent applications. Perform research and analysis, and provide guidance on a variety of patent and IP-related issues. Conduct database searches for patentability and freedom to operate analyses. Analyze patent and scientific papers and documents to assist patent attorneys on patent prosecution, counseling, and litigation. Draft patent applications and responses to office actions; advise lawyers on technology issues in preparation for depositions. Skills At least two years of proven working experience as a patent agent, preparing and prosecuting patent applications. Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail. Extensive computer and database expertise. A background in mechanical, electrical, biomedical computer science, or a related engineering field is preferred.
