The Campus Aide will have the following qualifications: establish good relations with individual students and groups, communicate orally with staff, parents, and students, react quickly and appropriately in emergencies. Operate two-way radio equipment; work effectively with personnel, students, parents, the public, and others. Applicants should reside in the designated geographic area surrounding the school where the position is assigned.Job Duties:A Campus Aide will perform a full range of duties including, but not limited to:Active supervision of students during nutrition, lunch, and transitionsEnsure the safety of all studentsObserve students during passing periods between classes; assure a timely return of students to classGreet parents in the mornings and maintain the security of front gate and sidewalk areaLight office work (e.g., distributing late slips, making photocopies)Clerical work to support classroom teachersServe as a positive representative for our school during interactions with parents, students, teachers, and school staffConsistent attendance and punctualitySpanish language skills are not required but helpfulMust distribute and account for Academic Slips/Behavior SlipsAfter School DetentionPerform related duties as assigned.Maintain acceptable standards of behavior among studentsMaintain poise, exercise tact, and good judgmentEncourage students in games and activitiesCollaborate and work effectively with school personnel, community representatives, parents, and studentsFollow school policies and proceduresWalk and stand for at least one-hour incrementsWork indoors and outdoors.Understand and follow oral and written directionsThe physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Occasionally required to kneel, climb and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift to 30 pounds. Bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below. Always required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, including gloves, goggles, aprons, belts, etc.Valid first aid certificate issued by the Red Cross desiredGraduation from high school or its equivalent is desirable.Experience in working with youth is desirable.Must possess great customer service and communication skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr Magnolia-Public-Schools-1
