Assistant Controller

Overview Assistant Controller in New York City for a wholesale apparel company selling through large retailers. Experience in wholesale business is required, including dealing with letters of credit, duty payments, and sales commissions. Responsibilities Handle day-to-day accounting tasks, financial reporting, and reconciliations; support the finance team with various financial activities. Manage bank reconciliations and Accounts Payable, including analyzing and approving vendor invoices for payment, generating checks, and initiating wire payments. Manage Accounts Receivable, including submitting orders for approval, monthly reconciliation, and processing credit card payments. Qualifications Three plus years of accounting experience. Proficiency with Sage 100 accounting software. Experience issuing letters of credit, making duty payments, calculating and paying sales commissions, and paying duties.
