Assistant Controller

Overview Lead accounting operations for a hybrid fund and management company, ensuring compliance and efficiency. Collaborate closely with the CFO and Controller to streamline processes and enhance financial reporting. Oversee fund accounting activities, including waterfalls and audits, for a $2 billion middle‑market PE fund. Manage relationships with administrators and ensure accurate and timely financial data delivery. Contribute to strategic financial planning and decision‑making within a dynamic organization. Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional growth and development. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies across accounting operations. Play a pivotal role in optimizing accounting systems and workflows for enhanced efficiency. Key Responsibilities & Duties Oversee fund accounting processes, including waterfall calculations and audit coordination. Collaborate with the Controller to manage financial reporting and compliance activities. Supervise administrative functions and ensure accurate financial data management. Lead initiatives to improve accounting systems and operational efficiency. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to support organizational goals. Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of excellence. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies. Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders and leadership. Job Requirements Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in fund accounting or financial management. Preferred 8 years of experience with expertise in PE fund operations. Strong knowledge of waterfall calculations and audit processes. Proven ability to manage and mentor accounting teams effectively. Experience with financial systems optimization and workflow enhancements. Excellent analytical and communication skills for strategic decision‑making.
