Human Resources Manager
$92k - $103kThe Asian American Foundation
About the Organization
TAAF serves the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community by promoting safety, fostering belonging, and advancing prosperity. Launched in 2021 in response to the rise in anti-Asian hate and to address the long-standing underinvestment in AAPI communities by building safety and economic prosperity in cities, advocating for the teaching of AAPI history in classrooms, advancing decision makers and creatives in Hollywood and journalism, ensuring that we are represented across all levels of leadership, and conducting research to inform our communities. Through groundbreaking programs, essential research, and cross-sector partnerships, we’re creating a permanent and irrevocable sense of belonging for millions of AAPIs in the United States. About the Opportunity
The People team advances TAAF's mission by ensuring that every member of our team is supported, engaged, and equipped to do their best work in service of safety, belonging, and prosperity for the AAPI community. Reporting to the Head of People, the Human Resources Manager plays a key role in delivering TAAF's People strategy and employee experience. This position manages core HR programs and processes across the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to benefits, performance, engagement, and offboarding, while serving as a collaborative partner to employees, people managers, and the Head of People.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, collaborative HR professional who sees the People function as both an operational partner and a driver of the employee experience. They are a force multiplier, someone who brings structure, follow-through, sound judgment, and a solutions-oriented mindset to the work, enabling the People team and broader organization to operate more effectively. This person will work closely with the Head of People as a trusted partner across the full employee lifecycle, helping translate People strategy into thoughtful, practical, and consistent employee experiences. They are comfortable rolling up their sleeves, independently owning projects and processes, collaborating across teams, and identifying solutions before problems become barriers. They balance attention to detail with an understanding of the bigger picture and are energized by building and improving systems in a growing organization.
