Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will be responsible for executing services planned, delegated, and supervised by the Physical Therapist (PT). Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Patient Care: Implementing patient care plans and administering therapeutic treatments to enhance patient mobility and function.
• Documentation: Completing accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and therapy sessions in our electronic health record system.
• Education: Teaching and mentoring patients and their families about therapeutic exercises and self-care strategies, ensuring understanding and compliance with the treatment plan.
• Infection Control: Applying infection control procedures when performing patient care activities to maintain a safe environment.
• Professional Development: Participating in mandatory continuing education and in-service training, demonstrating commitment to professional growth and competency.
• Technology Use: Utilizing iPad technology for point-of-service documentation and effective communication.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our hospital setting primarily serves a diverse range of patients, including elderly individuals, those recovering from surgery, and patients with chronic conditions requiring rehabilitation. As a PTA, you will play an integral role in enhancing their recovery journey through compassionate care and targeted therapy.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, supplemented by an Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• An active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Virginia.
• The ability to practice physical therapy in compliance with state and federal guidelines.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
