Description:
RTO after booking is not allowed.
Call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly lead to a cancellation.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Neuro ICU is required.
First-time travelers will not be accepted.
Local candidates are accepted with a rate difference.
Skills required include ventilation management, IV start, and neuro intensive care unit experience.
Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias is essential.
Experience in blood product administration and central line care is necessary.
Candidates must be able to manage continuous IV sedation.
CVA and acute stroke management experience is required.
Familiarity with external ventricular drains and ICP monitoring is important.
Post-neurosurgery management experience is needed.
Candidates should be comfortable caring for ventilated patients and following isolation precautions.
Expertise with lumbar drains is preferred.
The unit will have a patient ratio of 2:1, which may flex up to 3:1 in high census situations.
An average daily census of 11-12 is expected.
The position requires coverage every other weekend and floating within or near the facility.
The patient population primarily includes stroke patients, both ischemic and hemorrhagic, as well as those with traumatic brain injuries and other neuro conditions.
Special equipment utilized includes EVDs, lumbar drains, and ICP monitoring devices.
The unit is a comprehensive stroke center and focuses on critical procedures related to neurology.
Candidates must complete EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty.
Strong neuro ICU experience is essential for this role.
