Kitchen Lead – InHouse Congregational Catering Congregation Shalom | Fox Point, WI FullTime | Includes Weekends Congregation Shalom is seeking a Kitchen Lead to support our inhouse congregational kitchen serving Shabbat, holidays, lifecycle events, programs, and community gatherings. This handson leadership role works under the supervision of the Chef and supports daily kitchen operations, staff coordination, and event execution. This position is ideal for someone who values service, collaboration, and high standards—and who enjoys being part of a missiondriven community. Our Values Serviceoriented approach to guests and colleagues Commitment to cleanliness and food safety Consistent quality and continuous improvement Clear communication and teamwork About the Kitchen Inhouse congregational catering (not a public café) Scratch kitchen serving communal programs and events Core menus with seasonal and eventbased offerings Professional, fromscratch kitchen experience strongly preferred. Baking experience is a preferred asset. Key Responsibilities Prepare food according to established recipes and guidelines Maintain a clean, organized kitchen following ServSafe standards Support inventory organization and communicate supply needs Lead by example and support kitchen staff during prep and service Collaborate with the Chef and other leads on operations, menus, and events Participate in meetings, prep planning, deep cleaning, and special programs Step in to fill coverage needs and support team workflow Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Schedule & Compensation Fulltime position, including weekends as needed Mix of floor shifts, prep, leadership duties, and event support Wage: Competitive and commensurate with experience Ideal Candidate Organized, reliable, and able to manage time independently Comfortable leading while remaining part of the team Committed to cleanliness, quality, and respectful communication Interested in working in a valuesdriven congregational environment Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $18 - $22 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
