Software Development Engineer, SDN Controller

Salary: $143,400 - 143,400 per year Requirements:

• We require 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• We require 3+ years of experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• We require 3+ years of software development engineering or closely related experience.
• We require 3+ years of experience designing and building large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• We require 3+ years of object-oriented design experience.
• We require a bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• We require experience programming in at least one software language.
• We require that candidates meet the stated export control eligibility requirements.
• Preferred: 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Preferred: bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent.

• We design and deliver a modern, flexible, scalable, high-throughput, low-latency network architecture.
• We implement RF beam and optical link planning, along with other SDN technologies, to support best-in-class broadband network services.
• We build highly available software that powers network control plane operations on physical and virtual nodes.
• We define and automate processes for software development, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
• We provide operational excellence for control plane services, including tools and the refinement of operational procedures.
• We design, implement, and operate Leos network control plane for a high-throughput telecom service spanning satellites, terminals, gateways, cloud services, and terrestrial infrastructure.
• We work with satellite ground control services, customer engagement systems, and monitoring services to continuously improve network performance and customer experience.
