We're looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage weekly multi-state payroll for our growing team. This role is central to keeping our people paid accurately and on time, our prevailing wage reporting compliant, and our payroll operations running smoothly across the multiple states we operate in. As we continue to grow, we are looking for someone who thrives on accuracy, enjoys solving complex payroll challenges, and takes pride in continuously improving processes.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, working regular business hours Monday through Friday.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

What You'll Do

•       Process weekly multi-state payroll accurately and on time, including wages, benefits, deductions, and other authorized adjustments through OnPay.

•       Oversee payroll operations and related reporting, including prevailing wage intents, affidavits, and weekly certified payroll reports.

•       Ensure our third-party payroll service provider (OnPay) files payroll taxes, W-2 forms, and other required federal, state, and local payroll filings.

•       Process and respond to employee garnishment notices in accordance with applicable requirements.

•       Respond to payroll questions, investigate discrepancies, and communicate timely resolutions.

•       Enter paycheck information into Quickbooks, and assign job costing codes.

What We're Looking For

•       Minimum of 3 years’ experience processing multi-state payroll, ideally in construction or another prevailing-wage-driven industry.

•       Working knowledge of prevailing wage reporting requirements; certified payroll, intents, and affidavits.

•       Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and wage and hour laws.

•       Familiarity with payroll tax filing requirements and coordinating with third-party payroll providers.

•       Experience handling wage garnishments in compliance with applicable state and federal requirements.

•       Strong attention to detail and the ability to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies independently.

•       Clear, professional communication with employees and leadership on payroll matters.

•       Ability to work independently and collaboratively; self-motivated and dependable

•       Committed to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion

•       Experience with Microsoft Office programs; advanced proficiency in Excel.

•       Experience with Quickbooks Desktop or equivalent.

•       Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience
