About the Position

Position Overview

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive adult behavioral health services in a combination of inpatient and outpatient settings. This locum opportunity offers a balanced clinical schedule, the opportunity to work independently, and a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

The provider will deliver psychiatric evaluations, medication management, inpatient rounding, admissions, discharges, and outpatient follow-up care for adult patients.

Schedule

Standard Clinic Days

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• One-hour lunch break

Inpatient/Outpatient Split Days

• Morning: Inpatient rounding
• Afternoon: Outpatient clinic
• Occasional early start for court-related responsibilities

Coverage Expectations

• Approximately 5–7 inpatient shifts per month
• 12–19 outpatient clinic days per month
• Optional night call
• Weekend inpatient telepsychiatry coverage approximately once per quarter

Practice Setting

• Adult patient population
• Combination of inpatient and outpatient care
• Average daily patient volume: 12–14
• Provider works independently
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
• Diagnose and treat adult behavioral health conditions
• Provide medication management and follow-up care
• Complete inpatient admissions and discharges
• Conduct daily inpatient rounding
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary behavioral health team
• Participate in optional call coverage as needed

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• Active state medical license required at the time of presentation
• Current BLS certification
• Recent experience treating adult psychiatric patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Ability to provide documentation of recent clinical activity, including a case log demonstrating the required scope of practice
