Patient Services Representative

Contract- 13 weeks
Shift- Day 4x10-Hour (11:30 - 22:00), Day 4x10-Hour (08:30 - 19:00)
Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and patient-focused Patient Service Representative (PSR) to serve as a primary point of contact for patients in an outpatient clinic setting. The ideal candidate will have experience with medical insurance, referrals, patient registration, appointment scheduling, and patient interactions. Experience with CS-Link/Epic is highly preferred.
Responsibilities- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients both in person and by phone.
- Greet patients warmly and professionally while providing excellent customer service.
- Assist patients with questions and concerns and escalate issues appropriately when needed.
- Check patients in and out for appointments and ensure registration information is accurate and complete.
- Collect co-payments, provide receipts, and reconcile patient payments according to department procedures.
- Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information in CS-Link/Epic .
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments.
- Complete patient registration and ensure all required information is documented accurately.
- Process, track, and follow up on referrals and authorizations for various insurance plans.
- Assist patients with understanding insurance benefits, referral requirements, policies, procedures, and available services.
- Handle patient and provider correspondence in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate records and follow established clinic procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and sanitize the workspace using provided supplies and department guidelines.
- Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of recent experience working in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting.
- Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans .
- Ability to read, understand, and respond appropriately to detailed oral and written instructions.
- Strong communication, customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- 2+ years of recent experience working as a Patient Service Representative.
- Previous experience with CS-Link/Epic .
- Understanding of medical terminology .
- Experience with patient registration, appointment scheduling, referrals, insurance verification, and payment collection.
