Position Title Cook Position Summary Responsible for preparing and/or directing the preparation of food to be served complying with all Company standards, applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards, and following established food production programs and procedures. Responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, fraud, and injury. Key Responsibilities Keep lines of communication open between the point person and the Manager-on-Duty. Accurately prepare all menu items. Work each station (grill, fry, and cook's line). Identify product quality and freshness. Apply knowledge of food and kitchen safety, sanitation, preparation, and storage. Set up the line with appropriate utensils, equipment, and product. Ensure proper food/product rotation. Prep, portion, and assemble all Cheeseburger menu items. Maintain a well‑stocked, clean, and organized station throughout the shift. Read each ticket for modifiers and other special instructions. Clean as you go. Prepare made‑to‑order items as requested. Sanitize all kitchen utensils and equipment. Monitor and log waste on the waste log sheet. Assist Front of House employees with reasonable requests per Manager-on-Duty's approval. Use printed tickets for all food preparation. Lift and carry up to 50 lb as needed. Learn methods for consistently high‑quality food production. Adhere to all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures outlined in the orientation, Employee Handbook, and Safety Manual. Wear safety cut gloves when handling knives. Wear safety goggles when cleaning kitchen equipment that may expose eyes to injury. Complete other duties assigned by the Manager-on-Duty. Basic Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be 18 years of age. Moderate reading and writing skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills. Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 lb or less; manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. Prior experience in related food service positions preferred. Standard Requirements Supports the Mission, Values, and Vision of Cheeseburger Restaurants. Participates in common teamwork: cooperates with coworkers, plans and completes job duties with minimal supervision, communicates tactfully, and follows up with Manager-on-Duty regarding complaints or concerns. Essential Duties Prepare or direct preparation of food served using Company established production procedures and systems. Comply with Company sanitation, personal hygiene, and health standards; observe proper food preparation and handling techniques. Store food properly and safely, marking date and item. Report necessary equipment repair and maintenance to the Manager-on-Duty. Task List - Cook Correctly prepare all food served following Company standard recipes. Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours to preserve quality, temperature, and appearance. Apportion food for serving. Maintain daily production records. Keep work area neat and clean; maintain equipment used in food preparation. Complete food temperature checks before service. Other Duties Perform tasks supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending on individual circumstances. Prepare and serve food for special functions as assigned.
