Position Summary
A General Ledger (GL) Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the month-end and year-end close processes. This role plays a key part in financial reporting and internal controls.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare and post journal entries, including recurring and adjusting entries.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data across all ledgers.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and other departments.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Assist internal and external auditors by providing documentation and explanations.
- Analyze financial information to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
- Responsible for processing corporate invoices and payments
- Data Entry – posting of AP invoices in QB
- Weekly Check run via ACHs
· Participate in process improvements and system enhancements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and general ledger software.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and formulas.
- Strong analytical and problem‐solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
