\n \nJob Title: Buyer
\nLocation: Branchburg NJ 08876 USA
\nDuration: 6 Months
\n \nThe position will be hybrid. The candidate is expected to be on-site at least 3 days per week, with Monday and Tuesdays mandatory in the office.
\n \nJob Description
\nConfers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule ( includes demonstrated ability to expedite purchases when required)
\nAssists in the review of bid proposals and negotiates contracts with vendors to obtain the most cost effective pricing for company as required.
\nFocuses on cost-savings and improving quality and service.
\nAssists the Purchasing Manager in vendor sourcing and other projects as required.
\nFollow-up on vendor deliveries and resolves any issues or discrepancies.
\nMaintains raw material vendors and approvals, vendor assessments, vendor evaluations, and vendor specifications.
\nFollows-up with delivery dates and scheduling releases from blanket orders.
\nInterfaces with all departments and resolves problems and issues with required purchased items.
\nSourcing of specialty and capital items for Engineering, R&D, Product Development etc…
\nReviews and processes purchase requisitions and creates purchase orders in an ERP system for the majority of raw materials.
\nManages raw material vendor performance as per ISO standards.
\nAssists with overflow of MRO ordering when required.
\nRegularly exercises discretion and independent judgment.
\n \nRequired Qualifications:
\nBachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business or a related field
\n3 years of relevant experience in procurement
\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills
\nDemonstrated proficiency in using Google office applications including email, docs, sheets and slides or Microsoft equivalent applications
\nDemonstrated analytical and problem solving capability
\nAbility to travel 5% to visit vendors and operating sites
\n \nPreferred Qualifications:
\n \nExperience in chemicals industry
\nExperience in or supporting the electronics industry
\nStrong ERP system experience
\nDemonstrated ability to implement process and system improvements
\nExperience with supplier quality management systems
