Job Title: Production Worker – Batch Mixing Department Job Description

This role focuses on supporting the batch mixing department by accurately preparing, loading, and mixing ingredients according to established recipes and procedures. You will operate machinery, handle raw materials, and maintain a clean, organized work area in a GMP-regulated, food production environment. The position requires regular lifting, climbing short ladders, and working around kettles, tanks, and packaging equipment on a set full-time schedule.

• Load dry ingredients into mixing equipment according to specified recipes and production requirements.
• Accurately weigh dry ingredients to ensure precise batch formulations.
• Lift bags and containers of ingredients, up to 40 lbs, and transport them to designated mixing stations.
• Set up and adjust machinery used for cooking and batch preparation, following standard operating procedures.
• Gather raw materials and ingredients from inventory and stage them for upcoming production runs.
• Follow detailed recipes to mix, add, and sequence ingredients correctly for each batch.
• Set and monitor liquid filler machinery that transfers liquids into mixing tanks.
• Dump and add ingredients into kettles and tanks, including climbing short ladders and working on a mezzanine above kettles and tanks.
• Wait for product to cook while monitoring equipment and ensuring batches meet quality standards.
• Clean and organize workstations, mixing areas, and surrounding equipment to maintain GMP compliance.
• Cut boxes, open packaging, and gather ingredients safely and efficiently.
• Stage materials and supplies so that production runs smoothly and without interruption.
• Operate packaging machinery and support general production, packing, and machine operation tasks as needed.
• Follow all safety, GMP, and housekeeping guidelines, including proper use of PPE and adherence to facility rules.

• At least 1 year of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• At least 1 year of packaging experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience, preferably in food or similar regulated industries.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs individually on a regular basis.
• Comfort working on mezzanines and climbing 5–7 foot ladders above kettles and tanks.
• Experience with general production and general labor tasks.
• Ability to operate basic machinery and equipment used for mixing, blending, and packaging.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately and consistently.
• Attention to detail when weighing and measuring ingredients.
• Reliability in adhering to established schedules and shift times (overnight and early morning shifts).

• Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
• Prior blending or batch mixing experience is highly desirable.
• Experience as a blender or mixer in a production environment.
• Familiarity with packaging lines and machine operating in a food or GMP environment.
• Comfort wearing hairnets, beard nets, and other required PPE.
• Ability to work without jewelry and follow dress code requirements such as work pants and non-slip boots.

The role is based in a very clean, GMP-compliant production facility that focuses on food-related mixing and packaging. The floor includes kettles and tanks for cooking and mixing, packaging machinery, and organized inventory areas. The environment is temperature controlled and generally comfortable, though it can feel slightly warmer around operating machinery and kettles. The facility is noted for being pleasant and having a good smell due to food production. Dress code and PPE include hairnets, beard nets when applicable, no jewelry, work pants, and non-slip boots. Shifts are structured and full-time, with one schedule running Friday 3:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and Saturday–Sunday 3:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., and another schedule running Monday–Thursday 2:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. You will work around mixing tanks, kettles, packaging lines, and various production machinery in a well-organized, safety-focused environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Broadview, IL.

The pay range for this position is $18.05 - $18.05/hr.
