The Opportunity The City of Wyoming seeks an experienced candidate to join our team as theDirector of Parks and Recreation.This position willpartner with the city leadership team to develop and progress toward strategic goalsand will guide the day-to-day operation of the parks and recreation department.The scope of responsibilities includes technical, administrative, and professionalwork and requires a comprehensive understanding of park development andmaintenance, generational and accessible recreation and programming, communitymarketplaces, and special events. What you will bring along: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. parks andrecreation, public administration, and/or a related field). A master’s degreeis preferred. Certification by the National Recreation and ParkAssociation preferred but not required. Experience in areas of responsibility, including work relatedto park and recreation administration, including budget, personnel, planning,programming, and maintenance. Minimum of 5 years responsible supervisory experience andtraining employees. Creative and strategic thinking and excellent skill incommunication.
