Lab Assistant
Labcorp
Labcorp seeks a Lab Assistant for the Burlington, NC facility to receive, sort, and prepare clinical specimens for testing while maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring compliance with safety procedures. The role operates on a night shift schedule (11 pm–7:30 am), Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, and prepare clinical specimens for testing and analysis
- Scan and enter specimen and patient information into laboratory systems
- Monitor lab equipment function and perform routine instrumentation maintenance
- Troubleshoot specimen-related issues and replenish test bench supplies
- Maintain clean, safe work environment and complete administrative records
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Comfort handling biological specimens and ability to accurately identify them
- Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
- Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
- Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and prioritization skills
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments
