Essential Information Submit a Complete Application – Complete an online application, provide all required documents, and answer all questions. Testing Requirement – You must take the National Testing Network exam before moving forward. Shift work required – 24/7 operation; any shift (days, swings, graveyard), any day of the week including weekends, holidays, and overtime. Current schedule: 10‑hour shifts, two squads, days off Sunday–Tuesday or Thursday–Saturday. Probation – 18‑month probation, including six months in Police Academy and six months in Field Training Program. Pay Considerations – Starting hourly pay $33.37 (step 1); new hires begin at the start of the salary range. The Role Under direct supervision of the chain of command, this position is responsible for professional police work, preserving and protecting public peace and safety, and preventing crime through enforcement of the law. Must be at least 21 years old (20.5 at time of filing). Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must be a U.S. citizen. Licenses and Certifications Ability to obtain Nevada P.O.S.T. Police Officer Certification within state time frame. Must possess a valid, current Nevada driver’s license at time of application and maintain satisfactory record during employment.
