Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial mental health assessments through virtual consultations, documenting findings accurately from the first encounter to treatment completion.

• Evaluate clients' psychological, emotional, and behavioral health, utilizing standardized tools and assessments to inform diagnoses and treatment plans.
\n
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans tailored to the needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring alignment with best practices in mental health.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing diverse therapeutic modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy.

• Regularly monitor and document client progress throughout their treatment journey, making necessary adjustments to intervention strategies as needed.

• Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including psychiatrists and primary care physicians, to coordinate comprehensive care for clients, particularly those requiring hospitalization.

• Identify, mitigate, and address barriers to recovery through proactive intervention strategies and continuous support.

• Educate and assist family members and primary caregivers in managing and understanding mental health challenges to foster a supportive home environment.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or equivalent therapist in the state of New York.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated understanding of mental health conditions, psychotropic medications, and the therapeutic processes.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly experience with AVATAR or similar platforms is preferred.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience either in a telehealth environment or providing remote counseling services.

• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and guidelines.

• Proven experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders including mental health and substance use issues.

• Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build rapport quickly.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective documentation and client engagement.
