Role Summary

We are seeking a results-driven, detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our day-to-day financial operations and maintain the overall financial health of our plant. Reporting directly to the President, you will serve as a key financial and operational partner to plant leadership and executive teams.

In this multi-faceted role, you will lead a dedicated office team of three direct reports, oversee plant cost accounting, optimize administrative logistics, and drive strategic process improvements across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Management

• Oversee all core accounting functions, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Cash Flow Management.
• Monitor bank lines of credit, forecast cash flow, and manage customer credit applications and past-due collections.
• Prepare annual operating and plant budgets, monthly/quarterly forecasts, and comprehensive financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow).

Cost Accounting & Operational Analysis

• Analyze production costs, material consumption, inventory valuations, and operational variances to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Track capital expenditure (CapEx) projects and collaborate with production and supply chain teams to optimize plant efficiency.
• Provide executive leadership with actionable, data-driven financial insights.

Compliance, Audits & Reporting

• Ensure strict compliance with GAAP, corporate policies, and state/federal regulatory requirements.
• Manage internal/external audit processes, annual 1099 filings, and profit-sharing program administration.

Team Leadership & Office Administration

• Lead, mentor, and develop a 3-person office and finance team in a supportive, respectful work environment.
• Oversee health insurance administration and facilitate corporate benefit programs.
• Direct facility maintenance and janitorial contracts.
• Manage fleet administration, including vehicle licensing, registrations, annual IRS 2290 filings, and quarterly IFTA returns.

Candidate Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
• Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting, financial analysis, or management experience within a manufacturing environment (required).

Technical & Core Competencies

• Deep expertise in product costing , standard costing , and inventory valuation .
• Strong proficiency with ERP systems ( Global Shop Solutions / GSS experience highly preferred).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
• Exceptional business acumen, analytical skills, and data-mining capabilities.
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Demands & Work Conditions

• Work is performed on-site at our manufacturing plant in Norwalk, OH.
• Comfort navigating both traditional office environments and active manufacturing areas.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs as needed.
