Location: Kansas City, MO (4401 Wornall Road)

Start Date: Flexible, upon acceptance

End Date/Duration: Ongoing / long-term placement

Shift: In-house coverage at Level-IIIB NICU, flexible shifts

Hours/Week: Varies based on coverage needs

Employment Type: Full-Time

Licenses/Certifications: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology

Experience: Preferred 1+ year in NICU

Pay & Benefits

Pay Rate: $1.00/hour (discussed upon application)

What You'll Do

• Provide in-house neonatal care at a busy Level-IIIB NICU (49 beds)
• Manage critically ill neonates using advanced therapies such as inhaled nitric oxide, HFOV, HFJV, and therapeutic hypothermia
• Care for extremely low gestational age newborns, including infants as premature as 22 weeks
• Support over 450 annual NICU admissions, with an average daily census of 30
• Collaborate with a team of neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners providing 24/7 in-house support
• Oversee or support care in Level-IIIA and Level-II NICUs, as well as well-baby units
• Participate in telehealth and out-of-hospital coverage
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives and pursue professional growth opportunities
• Contribute to neonatal delivery services and care coordination across facilities

What You Need

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology
• Valid medical license in Missouri or ability to obtain one
• Proven neonatal intensive care experience

• 1+ years of NICU experience
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning
