Accounts Payable Clerk
Job Title: Accounts Payable Clerk Department: Business Services Accounts Payable Work Location: Los Angeles, CA (Remote) Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:30 AM 4:30 PM (37.5 hours/week) Pay Rate: $22.00/hr Note: Candidates are required to use their own equipment for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately enter a high volume of purchase order invoices into the accounting system (approximately 150200 daily)
- Verify invoice details, including supplier name, invoice amount, invoice date, 1099 information, and applicable taxes
- Address and resolve inquiries regarding invoices, check requests, and payment status
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or errors related to payment processing
- Assist with special projects as assigned by Accounts Payable Leads or the Manager
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Effective interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Previous experience in a higher education or complex organizational setting
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP, or Workday
