Step into an impactful role supporting young learners with autism as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic preschool setting. This contract opportunity is located near Irmo, SC, and offers a chance to work with a dedicated team focused on early intervention for children ages 3-4. You will support a varying caseload (typically between 4-10 students) at a single site, helping to shape positive learning outcomes in a structured, nurturing environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Teacher Certification in Special Education or appropriate area of vacancy
- Experience working with preschool-aged children, particularly those on the autism spectrum, is highly desirable
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt instruction techniques to meet the diverse needs of students
- Commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive classroom environments
Role Responsibilities:
- Serve as Special Education Case Manager for assigned students
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with district and state requirements
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including related service providers, families, and school staff
- Monitor and report on student progress; adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Provide direct instruction, interventions, and social-emotional support tailored to each child’s developmental level
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and regular parent communications
- Maintain accurate, confidential records regarding student progress and services
This full-time position offers 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a contract running until May 2027 (or until the notice of assignment completion). The position starts as soon as possible with virtual interview options for your convenience.
